Bads of having a dessert

The case against dessert seems open and shut. The sugar that makes treats so  sweet has been linked to wait gain and  choronic diseases ranging from diabetes to cancer. Many desserts also have an abundance of saturated fats  which potentially harm the heart and plenty of empty calories.

Let elders have a dessert

Elders like sweety things and for  them taking  snacks helps with the stabilisation of blood sugar between meals and maintain energy levels

Do this before baking a dessert

Take you oven's temperature is one thing you should always do before baking a  dessert. Double check your oven's thermostat. After all, an incorrect oven temperature will  result in a  dessert that  cooks all wrong, undoing all your hard work.

Create a healthy dessert

It is all about trials and errors  to create your favourite dessert. For a healthy flavour boost, add a bit of  cinnamon or vanilla extract and  try cutting back on the sugar in a traditional recipe or experiment with  natural with natural sweeteners such as fruits.

All dessert is not created equal

It is really  good  to  eat dessert every day without it affecting  your  health or  weight,  but  you  have  to be really careful about what you are eating and how much of it. e.g Having a  couple of  dark chocolate a day  won't hurt you, but eating an  entire bar  might .

Never reward kids with dessert or sweets

Giving sweets, chips or soda as a  reward often leads to  children overeating food  that  are high in sugar, fat and  empty carolies. Worse , it  interferes their  eating .It  also encourages them to  eat when they are not hungry to  reward themselves.

Nothing beats a homemade dessert

Making your own dessert at home allows you to control the ingredients, so you can use natural ingredients instead of unhealthy processed food. When  preparing your own food, you know exactly what ingredients you are eating.  Make something you are proud of  Whipping up a homemade dessert gives you a chance to show off your culinary skills and wow everyone you know. When you make something yourself you can take pride in the fact that you were able to bake something.

Best time for dessert

Image
If you want to have dessert , eating it  after lunch is better for your health. Shifting dessert to early afternoon  helps you  burn more fat at night. At night while  you  are  sleeping,  your  body is  in rest and digest mode, which is primarily fueled by your stored energy source of  fat.But if  you  have sweet closer to bed time,  your body will priotize getting the sugars out of your system before tapping into fat stores.  If you try to eat dessert after dinner,  your blood sugar will be high when you go to  sleep!  I hope  this  encourage you to  consider  dessert at lunch.
